Project Manager

BEN AROUS, Tunisia

Project manager — industrial projects and new part introduction

You run industrial projects for our aerospace customers, from contract review to transfer into series production: scope, schedule, cost, risk and quality. You are the customer’s single point of contact and you coordinate methods, production, quality and supply chain.

What you will do

  • Frame each project: customer requirements, scope, deliverables, milestones, budget and resources.
  • Build and hold the schedule, identify the critical path and settle priorities with production and planning.
  • Lead the cross-functional project team (methods, production, quality, purchasing, logistics) in concurrent engineering, without line authority.
  • Manage risks and opportunities: analysis, action plans, early warning and escalation when a decision is needed.
  • Be the customer’s point of contact: project reviews, minutes, management of changes and concession requests.
  • Follow industrialisation deliverables through to series transfer: manufacturing file, first part, FAI, and APQP and PPAP deliverables when the customer requires them.
  • Track project costs and profitability, and take part in costing and quotations with the sales team.
  • Report to management with simple indicators: progress, lead times, costs, risks and customer satisfaction.
  • Capture lessons learned at the end of each project and improve project management standards.

What we look for

  • Engineering degree or master’s in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or equivalent.
  • At least five years of experience managing industrial projects in aerospace, automotive or electronics.
  • Command of project management methods and tools: scheduling, milestones, risk analysis, budget tracking and dashboards; a PMP or equivalent certification is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the quality approaches of these sectors: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, FAI, EN 9100 or IATF 16949.
  • Sound technical culture in manufacturing processes; knowledge of machining is an asset.
  • Fluent French and English, written and spoken, to lead reviews with customers.

Personal qualities

  • Agility: you reorder priorities when the context changes, without losing sight of the objective.
  • Speed of execution and a sense of urgency: you decide quickly and drive actions through to closure.
  • Problem solving: you go to the shop floor, look for the root cause and decide on facts.
  • Leadership without line authority: you bring different functions together around one schedule.
  • Clear communication and customer focus: you can announce a risk or a delay, and negotiate a solution.
  • Organisation, anticipation and rigorous follow-up.
  • Resilience under pressure and a results-driven mindset.

What ESM offers

  • Complete projects to run, from the technical review with the customer through to series production, on a single site where every function is under one roof.
  • A structured NPI process and an integrated ERP (Odoo: MRP, PLM, planning) to manage load, lead times and changes.
  • A company that has grown from about 20 to roughly 150 people, mainly aerospace, with complementary high-precision industrial and automotive work.
