Corporate responsibility
Stated at its real maturity.
What ESM does today on environment, health and safety, people and business conduct, what is being deployed, and the steps we commit to next. Written the same way as our quality pages: nothing is presented as acquired that is not.
Where we stand
In place, in deployment, not held
Environment
An environmental management system is being deployed towards ISO 14001. Machining fluids, swarf and chemicals are handled and disposed of under control, and consumption per part is tracked for reduction. The system is not certified today and we do not present it as such.
Health and safety
An occupational health and safety management system is being deployed towards ISO 45001. Safety instructions, personal protective equipment and controlled handling of fluids and chemicals are in place; GEMBA safety and ergonomics walks are part of the internal audit programme, with findings tracked to closure by named owners.
People
About 150 people, 6 % annual staff turnover. Competence is managed formally: annual training plan, versatility matrix, individual authorisations for fitting and inspection, evaluation of training effectiveness. Placements and final-year projects with Tunisian engineering schools every year.
Business conduct
Anti-corruption, fair competition, conflicts of interest, labour and human rights, confidentiality: six commitments flowed down unchanged to our own suppliers through the purchase conditions, with a channel for raising a concern.
CSR rating
ESM does not hold an EcoVadis or equivalent rating today. A first assessment is part of the roadmap below; until then, CSR questionnaires are completed directly, line by line.
Carbon footprint
No corporate carbon footprint has been published yet. Establishing a scope 1 and 2 inventory, on the basis of energy and consumables data already recorded in the ERP, is part of the roadmap.
What customers ask
The four questions on every CSR questionnaire, answered now
| Subject | Position | Status |
|---|---|---|
| EcoVadis or equivalent rating | Not held. Increasingly requested by European primes and tier ones; a first assessment is planned in the roadmap. Questionnaires are completed directly in the meantime. | Planned |
| Scope 3 data for customers (CSRD) | Activity data — energy, materials, transport — can be provided on request to customers building their own inventory, on the perimeter of the parts we supply them. | On request |
| EU CBAM on aluminium | Since 1 January 2026 the CBAM definitive period applies to the aluminium products listed in its Annex I. Whether a machined part is in scope depends on its customs classification: parts of aircraft under heading 8803 are outside, articles of aluminium under chapter 76 are inside. Where a customer's import is in scope, ESM provides the data needed for embedded-emissions reporting. | On request |
| REACH, RoHS, conflict minerals | Declarations issued per part on request; positions stated on the compliance page. | On request |
Roadmap
Five steps, in this order
Objectives are set and reviewed in management review. Each step below is reported on this page when it is reached, with its date; none is reported before.
Running a supplier CSR assessment?
Send us the questionnaire. We complete it, including the lines where the answer is not yet yes.
