Accessibility statement
ESM wants this site to be usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technologies. This page states the standard we work to, what is in place, what is not yet verified, and how to tell us when something does not work.
Standard and status
WCAG 2.2 level AA, partially conformant
The reference is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the level adopted in Europe by the standard EN 301 549 (version 4.1.1, 2026). The site is self-assessed as partially conformant: most content meets the criteria, and the exceptions listed below are known and tracked. No third-party audit has been performed yet.
Statement issued on 7 October 2026 after a self-assessment of the main pages, reviewed at least once a year and after any significant change to the site.
In place
What has been done
- Semantic page structure: one main heading per page, ordered headings, landmarks for navigation, main content and footer, and a skip-to-content link.
- Keyboard access to the navigation, the language switcher, the forms and the buttons.
- Every form field carries a visible label, and required fields are marked with an asterisk.
- Text is never smaller than 12 pixels and can be enlarged to 200 % without loss of content; the layout adapts to phone widths without horizontal scrolling.
- No moving, flashing or autoplaying content, no time limits, no audio.
- Fonts are served from this site and no advertising or social-network tracker is loaded, so the site works with content blockers and strict privacy settings enabled.
Known limitations
What is not yet verified or not yet conformant
- Text contrast was checked on the main pages in October 2026 and the failures found were corrected; it has not yet been measured on every page.
- When a form is sent incomplete, the fields in error are highlighted, but the error message does not yet name them.
- The machine explorer and the contact assistant are interactive components whose behaviour with screen readers has not been fully tested.
- PDF documents offered for download are not yet tagged for assistive technologies; their content is also available as web pages.
- The general terms and conditions of purchase and the supplier code of conduct are published in French and English only.
