Senior accountant — general accounting, tax and closings

You keep the accounts of a fully exporting industrial company: day-to-day bookkeeping, tax and social returns, monthly and annual closings, in an integrated ERP (Odoo).

What you will do

• Record and check accounting entries: purchases, sales, bank, payroll and miscellaneous operations.
• Carry out bank reconciliations, reconcile customer and supplier accounts and follow up due dates and payments.
• Process foreign-currency transactions (customer invoices, imports, exchange differences) and follow up the bank and customs documents attached to them.
• Prepare and file the monthly and annual tax returns (withholding tax, VAT, employer’s declaration, corporate income tax), taking the fully exporting regime into account.
• Prepare the CNSS social returns with human resources.
• Manage fixed assets: acquisitions, depreciation schedules and physical inventory.
• Take part in monthly and annual closings: accruals, provisions, account justification, preparation of the financial statements and the tax package.
• Prepare the files for the statutory auditor and for tax or social audits, and keep accounting documents filed and traceable.

What we look for

• Licence or master’s in accounting, finance or equivalent.
• Five years or more of experience in accounting, in an industrial company or an accounting firm.
• Command of the Tunisian accounting system for enterprises and of Tunisian tax and social legislation.
• Knowledge of the fully exporting company regime and of foreign-currency transactions is an asset.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience of an accounting ERP; Odoo is an advantage.
• Rigour, discretion, respect of deadlines and an analytical mind.
